Calafate / Helsingfors / Calafate
Scheduled transfers to/from Helsingfors will be provided on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays throughout the season.
Transfer in: Transfers will depart from El Calafate. We'll pick up passengers from the hotels in Calafate (with exception of Los Notros and Estancias), afterwards we'll pick up passengers arriving on the first flight in Calafate, (provided it lands before 10 AM) and then we'll head towards Helsingfors.
El Calafate > El Calafate Airport > Helsingfors
Transfer out: Transfer will depart in the afternoon and will go directly to El Calafate to leave passengers in their respective hotels. Those passengers that need to go to the airport, transportation from El Calafate / Airport must be arranged. We will not provide transfer to the airport and we highly do not recommend to take outbound flights on that same day.
* In case of groups of more than four scheduled transfers are not included.
El Calafate > El Calafate Airport
From El Calafate: Take route Nº11 to the East (towards the airport). Drive for about 32 km up to the intersection with famous route Nº 40. There, turn left, heading North towards "El Chalten". After about 70km there is a bar called "La Leona". At that point, turn left and take route Nº21 to "Helsingfors".
From that point you have 75kms approx. We are at the end of the road, so you can't miss us!
From El Chalten: Take route Nº 23 towards El Calafate. When you get to the intersection with route Nº40, take right and head South towards El Calafate. When you reach "La Leona", a bar on the road, you have to turn right and take route Nº21 towards "Helsingfors". We are at the end of the road, so you can't miss us!
This is a fascinating, beautiful place especially if you like hiking or riding in stunning country for a day or more at a time. Everything about my trip to Helsingfors was amazing, from the staff, service, horseback riding, beautiful surroundings, treking, and of course the food. I'm still dreaming about the roasted lamb done over the open fire for the opening lunch. The staff was professional and accommodating and very personable. It is well worth the long trek to get there. It is a trip I will never forget.
